About This Seed
A winged seed or samara. The seed in the image shows a double-winged structure that has been partially separated at the center, attached to a thin, wiry pedicel. The wings are light-brown or reddish-brown with prominent veins, while the seed head at the base is rounded. The resulting tree is a large deciduous hardwood reached heights of 80 to 115 feet with a dense, symmetrical crown and five-lobed leaves known for vibrant autumn colors.

Germination

Planting Instructions
